The King inspects the guests and finds a person without a wedding garment, and he's thrown into outer darkness with weeping and gnashing of teeth. What kind of king is this? No one has to teach us to say that when we're given a smaller piece of birthday cake or have an earlier bedtime than our siblings. It seems we have this innate sense of getting what we deserve that we carry into adulthood -- to our jobs, our relationships, and even to the church. Join us as we return to Matthew's Gospel where Jesus tells the parable of the workers in the vineyard to teach us about how the Kingdom of Heaven works. Is it based on fairness or on what we deserve? No, it's based on the riches of grace bestowed by the Master of the vineyard.

The last couple of years have taken a toll on us. Anxiety and depression were already an epidemic in our country. The pandemic, social and political unrest, and divisions have only exacerbated our sense of foreboding. Our world only offers us coping mechanisms and management tools for our anxiety, but the Bible offers us a solution. This Sunday we are going to learn why Jesus is called the Prince of Peace and how we can experience real peace through Jesus here and now.
