In the Great Commission from Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus calls us to make disciples but He gives us two very important directions within that call that we can quickly overlook or fail to take seriously. We need to be certain that within the call to go and make disciples we are teaching others to obey gospel and then to respond to the gospel- through the gift of baptism.

There tends to be two misconceptions when it comes to patience in suffering, we tend to see it as passive and sometimes pointless, if we are being honest with ourselves. However, we are shown in our passage today of James 5:1-11 that patience is active and purposeful as long as we are waiting in hope in Christ.

What are your plans for the next week? The next year? Or even the next 5-10 years? Making plans tends to be a way that we can stay organized and on track, but we need to make certain that we are putting our plans at the feet of our Father. We need to be planning in submission to the will of God and letting Him direct our steps, we are shown in James 4:13-17 that anything else is boasting. The frailty of tomorrow is that we know not what it will bring, but our Heavenly Father does.
