How to Build a Biblical Friendship
Monday Jun 03, 2019
Monday Jun 03, 2019
Our modern world has only increased feelings of loneliness, as we are losing our intentionality when it comes to pursuing close personal friendships with others. David and Jonathan's friendship reflects perfectly the way in which we should pursue relationships with others and with God. We should connect over commonality, express loyalty and concern for each other, and provide constant encouragement.

A Heart Of Zealous, Fearless Faith
Sunday May 26, 2019
Sunday May 26, 2019
Genuine courage is hard to come by, but David always had an abundance of it, why? Because he knew he was fighting for God and that those who defy Him don't stand a chance; David had no doubt that God would come through. This Sunday we learned how trusting God and knowing what His Word says is what keeps us in confidence that the actions we take in faith will produce results that show the world how mighty our God is.

Faithful in the Field You're In
Sunday May 19, 2019
Sunday May 19, 2019
God doesn't always give us what we ask for but by entrusting us with something small He can see whether or not we will be faithful with what we have been given. For David, after he was declared king, he was back tending sheep for his father. However, instead of just waiting around for the thrown to be handed to him, he worked hard and protected the sheep at the risk of his own life. "When God goes looking for men and women, He goes to the fields to find those who are being faithful where they are" -Pastor Ben. Let's trust God's timing and learn to be faithful no matter where we are or how small the tasks we have been given seem to be.

The Rebel and the Man After God's Heart
Sunday May 12, 2019
Sunday May 12, 2019
"To obey is better than sacrifice" 1 Samuel 15:22. This Sunday, Pastor Ben taught us the correlation between divination and rebellion and the great cost that rebellion takes in relationship with Christ. Saul was a king with a rebellious heart so his kingdom didn't last, but David was a man after God's own heart (1 Samuel 13:14) and despite his failures, he remained a strong ruler with wholehearted obedience. Listen as we learn the keys to obedience and bask in the grace that we are given even when we fail.

Insecure Saul and the Unshakeable Confidence of David
Sunday May 05, 2019
Sunday May 05, 2019
Our identities tend to center around who we think we are or who we are in relation to those we are around (community), which leaves us building ourselves up with something very unstable and can result in a lack of self-esteem. Instead, we need to be seeing identity as "something to be received, not achieved" (Pastor Ben). This Sunday, we learned the value of centering our identity in Christ and how rooting our confidence in God will give us freedom from the feeling of insecurity. Join us in moving forward to find our identity in Someone unshakeable.

Through David's failures and shortcomings we learn so much about God's love and forgiveness along with how important it is to listen and turn back to God when you make decisions apart from Him. Listen as Pastor Michael starts in Samuel and starts to explain what it takes to be a good King like David.

Jesus According to Jesus: I Am The Way
Monday Apr 08, 2019
Monday Apr 08, 2019
How do we get to the Father? How can we have confidence in our Christianity? By following The Way. Jesus is The Way, the only Way. "The way to the Father is not following the way of Jesus, but The Way to the Father IS Jesus" - Pastor Ben. We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone [Ephesians 2:8-9]. This Sunday we learned about how Jesus is all we need now and all that we will ever need, "The Way isn't a lifestyle or a teaching to adhere to but a person to know and enjoy" (Pastor Ben). Let's live in that truth.
